You live in an imperfect world.
You know that by experience. You know that intuitively.
You are probably very conscious of the flaws that exist in ourselves, our government, our environment, and our society.
We have tried for years to fix those flaws. We have tried for decades to pass laws and regulations that will fix our countries and make them better places.
Politicians have come and gone, making great promises of a better tomorrow for the common man.
Yet lawlessness and chaos are still prevalent.
At the national level, corruption, conflicts, civil wars, and uprisings are on the rise. The trafficking of drugs, guns, women, and children is rampant and uncontrollable.
At the local level, homes have been torn apart by selfish individuals. Many have no hope. Suicide has become commonplace. And the tendrils of pornography have wrapped themselves around the minds and souls of both men and women everywhere, both young and old.
People are corrupt. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no not one.” (Romans 3:10) Not one person who has ever lived on earth has ever measured up to God’s perfect standard. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Is this true for you?
Give yourself a self-examination. Have you ever used God’s holy name as a cuss-word, disrespected your mom or dad, hated anyone, slept with anyone other than your husband or wife, stolen anything, or told a lie? If you answered “yes” to any of these, even it was only once, you have broken God’s law. You are guilty before God. You have sinned!
God must judge you for your sins. He is a just Judge. “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25) If God were to let you get away with your sins, would that be right?
God must give you what you deserve. “The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23a) If you work a job, you expect wages, or a paycheck. Sin also has its paycheck. This paycheck is death.
This death is not just an ordinary physical death. God warns us of a second death in Revelation 21:8. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Hell is no joke. Hell is no cuss-word. Jesus called this lake of fire “everlasting fire,” “fire unquenchable,” and “everlasting torment.”
Everyone who goes there will be consciously punished forever and ever.
It is a place no person would ever want to go, and yet everyone must go there because of their sins.
IS THERE NO HOPE FOR YOU?!
There is hope. There is one way out. There is one way to have your sins removed so that God will not punish you in the everlasting pain of hell.
You see, there was once a man who lived among us many years ago. His name is Jesus. He is the Son of God.
He was a normal human being, except for one difference. He never sinned. He never broke any of God’s law. He was the only perfect human being who ever lived.
He did not deserve to die. But He was betrayed by one of His own followers. He was beaten, laughed at, crowned with a crown of thorns, whipped severely, and then had his hands and feet nailed to a wooden cross. For six hours, He hung there publicly in extreme pain while His enemies made fun of Him and His message.
What was He doing on that cross? Why did He do that?
He was taking the payment for the sins of all mankind. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6)
He died in your place. He took the penalty you have earned for yourself. He tasted death for every man. (Hebrews 2:9)
After He died, He was placed in a tomb
But did Jesus stay dead? No! He came out of that grave after three days. (1 Corinthians 15:4) This is called the resurrection. It is the most wonderful news man has ever heard.
Because of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, there is hope for you!
If you believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again, God has promised to save you from your sins. (Romans 10:9)
You cannot save yourself, either by baptism, good deeds, helping the poor, or loving everyone. These do not take away any sins that you have done in your lifetime.
You need someone else to save you. Jesus is the only one who can do that. “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:30-31)
He has promised to give you eternal life, His life, if you trust Him 100% for forgiveness. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Do you believe this message of the Gospel? Are you ready to depend on Jesus 100% for salvation? Do you believe that if you asked Him to save you from sin, He would keep His promise and save you?
Jesus never lies! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Believe in Jesus and ask Him to save you. He will give you eternal life. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
He will change your life forever. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Jesus Christ is your only hope!
Below is a simple prayer to help you in your salvation decision. The words are not magical. What matters is that you are willing to ask Jesus to save you because you believe in your heart that His death and resurrection are the only way to remove your sins.
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I have broken God’s laws, and I deserve God’s punishment. I cannot save myself but I know You can, because I believe that You died in my place. I believe that You rose from the dead to give me eternal life. Lord Jesus, please save me. I want your gift of eternal life. You are my only hope. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. Amen.
